nLite is a great Windows installation tool for permanent Windows components removal and pre-installing Windows configurations. There is an option to make bootable image ready for burning on CD for unattended installation (otherwise just dump the drivers for your PC on the same bootable CD as the operating system and then installation will progress with minimal prompts) or testing in virtual machines.
Hardware and Software Fix:

Thinking of "Downgrading" Sony Vaio Notebook VGN-NR110E from Microsoft Windows Vista to XP, first create a set of Recovery CDs in case you need to reinstall Vista. Second prepare the system to dual boot (instructions are above). Thirdly download the XP drivers for Sony VGN-NR110E. Next download the very helpful tool called nLite; nLite will prepare a bootable CD combining your copy of Windows XP operating system with the drivers that you will add into the easy to follow windows, including the SATA drivers, make sure after downloading nLite you follow the online guide to create a bootable CD which you will have to simply place into the drive and after restart boot from CD.

If in Windows XP Home or Pro you cannot see any available wireless networks you need to turn on "Wireless Zero Configuration" in services.
Go to Start -> Run
Type in services.msc and click OK
Scroll down under the name column to Wireless Zero Configuration and select it and click on it to open a screen called Wireless Zero Configuration Properties.
You should have the option to Stop or Start the service, make sure it is started.
Change the Startup Type from Manual to Automatic
Click OK
Now you should be able to view and manage the available networks in Wireless Network Connection Properties window.
